Don’t Give ‘Em A Piece

“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” (Eph 4:2)

“In other words, make sure that your attitude is right; make sure that your mind is right; [and] make sure that your focus is correct. And, then, whatever you do – this is what we really [have] to understand – “forbearing one another in love.”

“If you bring your old man [into the church], who has not died unto sin, …after awhile some of the attributes and personalities and the qualities of the old man will begin to show himself. Like, when [people] find your “last nerve” – the one that’s sticking out from under holiness; the one that’s sticking out from [under] the Blood; that one nerve that keeps protruding and showing itself. And the Devil makes sure that someone finds that one nerve, and, before you know it, somebody “got on your last nerve. Now… if someone has “got on your last nerve” then it looks like you are obligated to share with them. Right? And, so, we’re going to share with them a “piece of our mind.” [But] Church folk ought not to be so quick to give up a “piece of their mind.” [You have] heard me say before: we need all of our mind – don’t go giving away your mind…

“…You have to be careful. Let me let you in on a little secret. Anytime you give away “a piece of your mind,” you’re giving away a piece of the God that’s in you. And you need to get that back. Think about it: if God is in you and you put somebody in their place, what is God doing while you’re doing all of that?”
