“…Unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ…” ( from Ephesians 4:13)
…We ought to want to grow up and be like Jesus…We [should] want to be just like Him. We [should] want to love like Him. We [should] want to have peace and joy. We [should] want to be strong like Him. We [should] want to be just like Jesus.
Lord knows, we need to know how to forgive like Jesus. Yes, He felt the pain when they drove those nails through His hands. Yes, He felt the pain when they drove those nails through His feet. Yes, He felt the pain when they pushed the thorn crown down upon His head. (Some of us can’t stand to stick our hand in a rose bush.) Yes, He felt the pain when they whipped Him with all of those stripes. Yes, He felt the jerk and the tear of the flesh when they dropped [the] cross in that hole. The Bible said He never said a murmuring word. He never cursed them one time. He never said, “Why are they doing this to me?” But the thing that He is recorded as saying is, “Master, Forgive them. For they know not what they do.” We [have] to be able to forgive like that.
Now, the next time someone finds your “last nerve” – the one that’s sticking out from under the blood – say “Lord forgive them because they don’t know they’re on my last nerve… I’m having a bad day and they messing with me like that.” Just say, “Lord forgive them. They don’t know. Had they known, they wouldn’t have done it. And, so, Lord bless them. Help them right now. Bless them Lord.” Try that.
