Send Up A Praise (3 of 3)

The Shekinah Glory“When the priest would light that sensor, and they’d start swinging it back and forth, everybody in all parts of the temple knew that they were getting ready to praise God. Then they knew that the high priest was getting ready to go into the holiest of holies… and they knew when the high priest [took] that sacrifice, [and] once it was received by God, they knew that the Shekinah Glory was going to rise above the middle wall of petition and they would see the essence of the glory of God fill the house. The glory of God would shine into the windows of the temple. The glory of God would be seen out in the valleys. It could be seen down the sides of the road that came down in to Jerusalem.

“And if we would praise God in [the house of the Lord] – somebody outside [may see and] know that God is in here with us. And what better place to be than in the presence of the Lord? I don’t any better place to be than in the presence of the Lord… [So, always remember], your praise is invaluable. Whatever you do, don’t ever withhold your praise unto God. No matter what you’re going through, don’t ever withhold your praise from God.”

When God decides to make changes in your life it can mean great things are getting ready to occur even though you may not be feeling so great. You just have to move your I feel-ism feelings out-of-the-way and trust in Him to take care of your needs. Most of us are familiar with the famous bible scripture, “God will never leave you nor forsake you.” When you feel like your life’s comfort zone are changing call on the name of the LORD.  He is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”  Proverbs 18:10.

Being in the dark about what’s happening to you is no fun at all, that’s why God’s wants you to see things from His perspective. His 20/20 visions keeps your mind eye’s from your blind spot, and helps you to feel strong and courageous.   Deuteronomy 3 1:6, Do not be afraid or…

Send Up A Praise (2 of 3)

The Throne of God from the Book of Revelation“But in this day, since we’ve come into Christ, and since our bodies have become the temple of the Lord, it’s our praises that go up before God. Our praises are so unique that the moment you utter a praise [from] your lips, it goes straight to [heaven]… Praise does not have to be translated to God… [and] when it makes it to the courts of the Lord, our praise joins in with that of the seraphim that are praising him twenty-four-seven. What a wonderful thing! Just to send a praise up to Gladory! [We] ought to have a praise in your heart; [we] ought to have a praise on [our] lips, [We] ought to have praise on [our] tongues because God has been good to [us]!”

Sunday School: Out of Egypt

“Out of Egypt”

Scripture context: Exodus 15:1-3, 19, 22-26

A few words on the Lesson Aim for Sunday. January 28, 2012: That you will learn that you will encounter trials but God will always lead you through.

Moses & Israel Cross the Red SeaThis week, we are looking at the events immediately following God’s deliverance of the children of Israel by way of the Red Sea. The children of Israel had experienced the awesome power of God and had praised Him for the victory. Yet, they soon encountered a trial, or a testing of their faith, at the waters of Marah.

All this week, I have been meditating on the scripture where Jesus says, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:23) And I questioned the Lord, “How do we come to know Jesus and be known by Him?” To which, God led me to the following scripture:

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. (Philippians 3:10-11)

We will experience victories in this life, but we are sure to suffer hardships as well. And as we go through difficult seasons, we must learn how to suffer well. As we suffer, we can view those seasons as opportunities for us to deepen our relationship with Christ as we share in the “fellowship” of His sufferings. Paul taught in 2 Timothy 2:12 “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him.

Our trials are what God uses to shape us into the image of Christ. In our Christian walk, we will learn that we will not be spared from losses, misfortunes, broken hearts, and other pains of this life. Yet, through it all, God is able to carry us through. He has an ear to hear, a should to cry on, and a heart to comfort us.

So, if you are going through today, be encouraged, because Christ has overcome the world! Surely, if He has overcome the world, He is able to overcome your problem, too. Hold on! God is faithful to  carry you through whatever you are going through.

The Temple of Israelite

“One of the things that we discovered in our studies [of] the church of Israel [is that] when they came to service, when they came into the temple, everybody came to their designated spots in the temple… It was segregated into different parts… And people of certain nationalities had certain worship spots. People of a certain gender had to worship in certain places. It was segregated. But when the service would get started, the priest would go up and they would light a sensor and they would go and the odor of sweetness and aroma would begin to fill the house. And that would signify “we’re getting ready to praise God.” And praises would go up before the Lord. At that time, it was all centered around the fragrance and the odor [of the sensor]…”

Understanding God’s Word

The Gutenberg Bible displayed by the United St...

“…You need to pray when you read your Bible – when you read any part of it. And, then, try to keep your thoughts out of it and just let the Lord reveal. Sometimes, we’re so busy trying to spin it the way we want it to go, and you have to let the Lord reveal it to you by His Spirit.”
