The Woman of Sumaria: Breaking Down the Barrier

John 4:7-15, 23-26,28-30

A few words on the Sunday School Lesson Aim:

That you, through Jesus encounter with the Samaritan woman, will learn to love people who are different.

The thing that I find most intriguing about this week’s lesson is the fact that Jesus knowingly engaged in fellowship with a woman of ill-reputation. He did not allow her past,  her current situation, or her nationality to interfere with His mission – which was to bring the Gospel to the people of Samaria. Jesus tore down the walls of separation because He understood that all men are lost and in need of a Savior.

Always remember: the Gospel and the Savior that it points to is larger than race, sex, denomination, political preference, etc. It is available to all and for all – no exceptions.

Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. ( Hebrews 7:25)
