“The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?” (Matthew 10: 24-25)
We are all disciples of Christ. Being a disciple means following Christ, learning His ways, practicing His ways, and becoming more like Him. Being a disciple is not limited to preachers, pastors, missionaries, etc. it is the requirement of all believers
in Christ. Christ tells each of us, “Follow Me,” and “If any man desire to be my disciple, let him take up His cross and follow me.” Jesus has given us no reason to expect an easy life We have no reason to be believe that we will not experience pain and suffering. We all have been called to bear a “cross of affliction” and a “cross of sacrifice.” And we MUST bear it. Why? Because, we are not above the Master, and if he has born His cross for us, surely we must bear our cross for Him.
